This week’s number 2 song started almost as a joke after John Fred misheard the lyrics to a Beatles song as “Lucy in disguise with diamonds”. The lyric change was inspired by girls in large sunglasses Fred had seen while in Fort Lauderdale. The song contains several nods to its source material, which the Beatles didn’t seem to mind.
